My puppies are only raised with their best interests in mind. They of course are raised on my 55 acre farm with love and care. They are very well socialized and familiar with the sounds of everyday life. Transition to their new homes is easy when they are used to the things they will live with day to day. Each pup is given the chance to develop his or her own character and in order to do this, My puppies do not leave before 7-8 weeks of age Virginia state law.
Golden Retrievers make perfect family pets. They always enjoy being part of the family's company and show love and devotion to all members of the family. They crave love and affection. Companionship is their top priority and they are totally devoted to their human family.
Golden Retrievers are a very adaptable, multi-purpose dog. Originally, they were bred to be gundogs. These days they are used in a wide area of purposes: as guide dogs, helping with the disabled and in search and rescue situations. There are many facets of the Golden you can enjoy. With Golden Retrievers, simple obedience and agility training will provide you with a combined family pet, showing and gundog. Their attributes are: good looking, mellow temperament, intelligent, wanting to please attitude toward your every need. The Golden has a humorous side as well. Please accept that they insist on bringing you unusual presents. This is a display of their natural instinct of retrieving; this includes anything left on the floor or within their reach. If they do retrieve an inappropriate item, you cannot be mad and scold them. Just remember as they greet you with your favorite shoe, pillow, or sock that this is natural behavior in the breed. Pat them on the head and give them a treat or toy. They gladly will accept the trade. A Golden Retriever is a very intelligent dog, but it is best not to let them train you. I recommend you take your time and train them slow and with care so that your puppy can reach its full potential.
